Paul Wellstone Memorial & Historic Site
David Wellstone, son of the late Sen. Paul Wellstone and his wife, Sheila Wellstone, joined members and leaders from the Iron Range Building Trades on Friday, July 9, to help restore the Paul Wellstone Memorial and Historical Site in Eveleth.

The Paul Wellstone Memorial and Historical Site in Eveleth was established through volunteer efforts following the death of Wellstone, his wife, Sheila, and six others in a plane crash on October 25, 2002. It features decorative memorial boulders along with plaques that tell the story of Sen. Wellstone’s political legacy and devotion to northern Minnesota.

Wellstone, as well as the BlueGreen Alliance Foundation, announced the establishment of a dedicated fund in collaboration with the Iron Range Tourism Bureau to maintain the historical placards at the site in the future. St. Louis County currently provides snow plowing and trail maintenance at the site.
